What it does
Ask your AI chat app to "find my Recallr note about the focus plan", or ask your assistant for "that article on habit stacking I saved in March", and it searches your Recallr, reads the save and answers with it. Ask it to save a link you're discussing, and it lands in Recallr, summarized and connected like any other save.
It works with four tools over your own Recallr:
search_recallrfinds saves by meaning and returns the best matches with their summaries.get_recallr_itemreads one save: its summary, key points, part of its text and the original link.recent_recallr_saveslists what you saved lately.save_to_recallrsaves a link or a short note, only when you ask.
Three only read; one adds. None can delete or change anything.
02
Why your assistant needs your memory
General AI assistants know a lot about the world and very little about you. The article you saved last spring, the notes from a meeting, the paper your professor mentioned: none of it is in their heads unless you paste it in, and pasting is exactly the kind of chore a second brain is supposed to remove.
The Recallr connector closes that gap. Your saves stay in Recallr; the assistant can look things up in them, the same way it searches the web, whenever it needs to.
03
Connect it in a minute
The server address is the same everywhere: https://mcp.recallr-ai.org/mcp
- AI chat apps: add Recallr as a custom connector or MCP server in the app's settings, then sign in with your Recallr account. (Recallr is in review for the apps' own connector directories.)
- Coding assistants and editors: add an HTTP MCP server named
recallrwith the address above, then sign in when it asks. - Any other client that speaks MCP over HTTP: add the address above.
Step-by-step guides for each are in the Recallr MCP docs.
04
Things to ask once it's connected
- "Find the article I saved about sleep and memory, and give me its three main points."
- "Draft an email to my landlord using what I saved about the lease."
- "What did that video I saved say about starting a sourdough culture?"
- "Save this link to my Recallr with a note: read before Thursday's meeting."
- In a coding assistant: "Pull my saved notes on the Fetch API and add retries to this client."
The answer cites the saves it used, with links back to Recallr, so you can open the original and check.
05
You stay in control
- Nothing connects until you sign in with Recallr and allow it.
- The assistant sees only what its searches and reads return, one request at a time. It never sees your chats, Buddy Mail or connected apps.
- It saves only when you ask, and never a whole conversation.
